Well, I’m two weeks home now after my Sochi adventure. I’m trying to recover after my crash in Russia. My back is still hurting: the bruises all over it needs time to heal. I started slowly with some fitness and running this week. Last monday I joined the welcome party for all the Dutch olympic athletes in Holland. It was fun to be there. Check my interview afterwards here. Soon I will be off to the snow again. In any case I’ll be at the Dutch Snowboard Championships in a few weeks. The rest of my agenda is still a little vague. I’ll tell you when I know more!
Everybody knows my Olympic story allready, so I won’t repeat it here. If you wanna see it again, check here what they broadcasted in the Netherlands. I’m glad I’m still walking, although I’ve pain everywhere. First I was pretty disappointed. Now I’m proud I was in Sochi, despite the result. Shit happens!
I wanna say thanks to all people who yelled their throats sore for me during the Olympic contest. I love you all!!
Today first halfpipe training day in Sochi. I was satisfied. Afterwards I checked the finals of the slopestyle. Wow, the level is epic. Tomorrow morning I’m first going to watch Cheryl’s slopestyle semi-final. Hope she makes it to the finals and more. After that I’m going to prepare myself for the halfpipe evening training.
Yet one day training to go in Laax before I’m leaving to Sochi together with my mate Dimi and coach Jonte. Thank God I don’t have broken bones. This in contrast to Dimi, which broke his wrist. I’m glad he can still join the Olympics. Training went super! I can’t believe the Olympic halfpipe-contest is already within a week. But first the opening ceremony in Russia on Friday. See you later!
